POWR: Baltic Stories Exchange - deadline September 1st |
28.07.2010 |
No writers, no films. Writers are at the core of every film project’s development process and there is a growing need for good, strong stories – therefore these stories need to be well presented on a platform of their own. For the 3rd year in a row the Baltic and Nordic MEDIA Desks in collaboration with Baltic Event and Script&Pitch Workshops are organizing a 3-day training and pitch-event for Baltic and Nordic scriptwriters:
POWR 2010 takes place during the Baltic Event in Tallinn the 1st - 3rd of December.
Our primary and most important focus is to promote scriptwriters and help them find partners in the international marketplace. The Baltic region has a great common history of collaboration and we wish to support the continuation of this collaboration in the future. The participating writers will pitch their projects to producers, distributors and sales agents attending the Baltic Event, and will be duly prepared for this presentation at the initial workshop with Danish and Italian tutors, Valeria Richter and Gino Ventriglia, from the MEDIA supported Script&Pitch Workshops.
The focus of the workshop is development through pitching and it is expected that participants will read each other’s materials and contribute in the sessions. The writers will also, among other things, be presented in the Baltic Event catalogue. 12 writers will be selected, based on their feature film ideas/projects and professional backgrounds. Writers must have documented professional experience, with at least a widely released short film, feature film or TV-drama on their CV. Project ideas must be suited for international co-production and we naturally welcome subjects that aim at being shot around the Baltic Sea countries. Projects can be at an early stage or already have a treatment or 1st draft. The selected writers will participate free of charge, but some travel and accommodation expenditures must be expected. Interested scriptwriters are asked to send their synopsis (max. 3 pages), their CV and a short motivation note – all in English - to their local MEDIA Desk before the 1st of September 2010.
